What foam does for site equipment
- Freeze protection: keeps fluids and process temperatures above critical thresholds, reducing reliance on trace heat.
- Heat retention: cuts the energy to hold process temperature on tanks and vessels.
- Weatherproofing: a durable closed-cell shell (usually top-coated) protects equipment exposed to the elements.
Why foam over blanket or rigid
Tanks and vessels are curved and studded with fittings - foam conforms and self-flashes around them where wrap and board can't. It's specced to the operating temperature and the manufacturer data sheet, and finished with a protective coating.
